Started a whole new career and upgraded to 2.1 yesterday, so I started out on Aug 1 1939.
MY first assigned patrol was to BF10 which (if I am not mistaken) doesn't actually exist! Anyway, I sailed around the British mainland, back to Wilhelmshaven and transferred to Kiel. Patrol 2 starts late on 29 August. I sail around the harbour a bit, taking in the sights. A large Polish cargo is spotted late afternoon on 31 August, heading East: It's less than 12 hours until things kick off with Poland, so I shadow this ship and the moment Warsaw turns red on the nav map, I sink her: Is that really bad form? This got me wondering: If I so timed it that I was in inner Scapa Flow, salvo 1-4 primed on the biggest thing I could spot an hour before war with Britain on September 3, and again as soon as the map legend turned grren to red, I let rip and turned about sharpish, would that be considered cheating by people? In fact, could it even be done i.e. would I be attacked on the way in? Any thoughts? |
