Default Whole new game

Since starting SH3 about 6 weeks ago, and starting from the beginning in 1939 (The year I was born) I have been only in the Type IIA-D boats and only in the area between England & Norway. I'm in my 14th patrol (GWX and 2nd time around) and got the bright idea to re-do the Norway attack on April 9, 1940, only this time with a VIIB boat & the 2nd flotilla.
So I started another career out of Wilhelmshaven & launched to patrol AF36 & see if I can find a big ol British Battle ship or something..
Anyway, while shaking out my new (damn this thing is long) boat I came up on a target ahead & slower. I followed at flank (tis dark) until I got about 4500m then I submerged & thought I'd sneek a mag torpedo up his poop shoot with my speedy new boat. Hay this is fun. then about 2000m behind the guy picks up another knot & now we both doing 8kts...Bummer! so I surface & make a dash for him thinking that I would have to shoot at a zig zagging bugger & I'd most likely miss...but what the hay..I got lotsa torps on my big new boat....
then about 1500m it dawns ...uba uba uba...Boinggg!... Hey! I have a-big-ol-gun on this boat. cool. I'll give it a try. that pop gun on the IID was worthless, so I never used it.

I set the fore & aft decks ablaze just for fun & then I sent a bunch of rounds at the water line right in his stern. In a little bit I got my favorite words...
"She is going down"...I love it, so I just laid back & enjoyed.

Now I know how you guys get some of those high tonnage per trip. Heck, I have 10000tons & haven't fired a torpedo...

I have had a ball with my type II boat, but now I just have to see what I can do with this big, long, sleek boat.

It's like being in another game.

Glad you're having fun with your type VII.

Wait until you try out a type XI ! The extra torps, having two tubes aft, and the 105mm deck gun......

I used the "cheat" for a type XXI and gave it a go. There were many things I liked about it, and many things I did NOT like about it. So in the end, I removed the cheat and went back to my type IX. I have a lot of fun with it!
