Default Ship Dimension

I'm finding some ship's Dimension are off. The medium euro composite draft seem off, 15.4 in cfg file, if I set a torp to 8 to 10 feet it goes under the ship. I'm wondering it the mod JP Ship Dimension Fix is compatible with version 1.4. Also some shot goto the rear of the ship when I shoot at the center of the ship.

I'm not using the JP Ship Dimension Fix now, just wondering if it'll work?
This is in calm weather.......

Thanks.........

Default you could do what i did in my own game

What ever the rec manual says for a draft I set the ships CFG file to the same thing.

Also the game's DUD torpedo setting works well now so you will have some deep runners from time to time.

could this help to correct the auto targeting in the game so its not always hitting the aft of many ships even when they dont change coarse or speed?

Judging by your description, I would go with what Leo has stated here. Torpedoes are known to run deeper then set during the beginning of the war.

Default Draft is strickly how deep the ship is in the water

So it will not fix the hitting aft or forward part of the ship. Just the under side depth but again this can change with waves and torpedo malfunctions.

I think some of the earlier work that was applied in the 1.3 patch from an old mod that fixed the ship dimentions was changed and or lost on some of the ships.

We might end up going back to that old ship dimention fix mod that KRUPP did pre patch 1.3.

The Dev's used it in the 1.3 patch with his permission.

These happens any time I fire apon the mediaum euro ship an I watch the the torps on external view. I DL the new recognition manual by FooFighters to see if the depth are better but can't use it 'cause he changes the menu_1024_768.ini for the different tools which has NOTHING to do with the recognition manual. I'll manualy change the cfg if they don't agree with the manual. I went thru some of the ships cfg an found many don't match... The problem with the JP Ship Dimension Fix is it includes a .sim file that may not be compatible an some of the cfg file are different.

But if you use the figures for the CFG files it can fix a lot of woe's with targeting and torpedo depth settings.

No, that's what Capn Scurvy's ship centered accuracy fix is for.

And yes the JP dimension fix works under 1.4

And I would sugest doing it manualy as well.

Not a good idea to use the other files from it as there are some changes to them with the new patch.

I can see what Leo is saying by sticking to using fresh 1.4 files ONLY.

how do you do make this adjustment manually?

Open them with word pad and change the values in them to what the values are in the JP ship dimension fix mod. Then save them.

I personaly am working on it for my own game but doing it as a JSGME mod so not to screw up in game original files incase of further upgrades to the game.

So copy all of the ship files then go into them and delete every thing but the CFG files. Then make your changes to them.

Once done add it to your mod folder and activate. Just make sure it is the right file structure.

1.4 Compatable ship Dimention fix/Data/Sea then your folders for the ships with only the CFg files.

I did the changes an only found 2 or 3 ships out of the original files that didn't need any changes. Also tried it an haven't come across any med eruo composites yet.

You can use the JP Ship Dimension Fix1.3 but REMOVE all the .sim file from the mod, I don't know if there compatible...

But for me I have to do it manualy because I have ship born planes set up for the ones that have them and the carriers so unfortunatly manual changes for me.

See the sim files contain all the engine HP work and research that was done by another guy in here and applied to the game in a patch and also the ability to change course without losing too much speed and more are all in that area of the Ship files.

That is why I said only the CFG files are cool.
