Yes I did, a couple of times.
No idea why it happened. I did nothing with the career files or the program folder at all.
It happened three times up till now.
The first two times I had to go back to where there was an autosave in port.
The last time I was able to go back a few saves and load a previous save while at sea.

It sucks when this happens.

@ABBFAN

Not much good with coding and things, but two errors that I have had are:

:rotfl: Exceptional Error: (Give me a break, is there such a thing?) This used to happen to me while playing Microsoft Rise Of Nations RTS. Basicly, without looking it up again, it was what they were classifying it as when something happened in the game that wasnt in coding, and the game did not know what to do anymore. Like in the old days of Quest for Glory, they used to say, "OOPS, We did'nt think of that!" then the game would crash.

Catastrophic Error: Happened while I was installing Battlefield 1942 collectors, with Vietnam and all the bonus packs, whole 9 yards. Windows installation wizard basicly uninstalled itself! Everything worked, but I could no longer install ANY, I repeat ANY, program. I ended up having to re-install windows and format my drives.

I would guess, without looking it up, that a Fatal Exception is just another term for exceptional error, without the PUN.

I found no work arounds for my so called, "Eceptional Error". Microsoft did however, release a patch that fixed that problem.

fatal error is an error which causes a program to abort - and thus may return the user to the operating system. When this happens, data that the program was processing may be lost. A fatal error occurs typically in any of these cases:
  • An illegal instruction has been attempted
  • Invalid data or code has been accessed
  • The privilege level of an operation is invalid
  • A program attempts to divide by zero. (In systems compliant to the with the IEEE floating-point standard, this creates an infinity, not a fatal error.)
In some systems, a fatal error causes the operating system to create a log entry or to save an image (core dump) of the process.

Thanks to wikipedia for the info..... Basically a fatal error is where the program dose something that makes it's self dissapear into sillicon no-mans land
