Default Your sub is being refitted.....

First time Ive seen this.

After returning to Brisbane late in the war from a rather successfull patrol I was awarded the usual hardware.

To my supprise I was greeted by the splash screen where your usually offered the command of a "new sub" but instead it read "Your sub is being refitted. It is being upgraded to a cut down conning tower".

Pretty cool

Yea I know yall probably already seen this... But I thought it was a nice touch.

Aaaah - I dream of a different con One that I can actually fit another AA gun to, or even just have a decent field of fire on my existing one!!

The USN really couldn't design like the Kreigsmarine could ... <sigh - dreams of a nice little Uboat to slip into> :p

The cut down tower allows two 'twin' AA guns one fore and one aft and to move a 4 .50 cal deck gun to the bow.

Had my Gato refitted with the same cut-out con. Thought it improved my ability to use the AA guns greatly. Like the new look, and am having fun shooting down pesky planes as well.

Get yourself some more renown sailor :p

I think I had in the neighborhood of 27,000

Honestly I have no idea if that makes a difference or not.

I had that upgrade screen on my second career, I started in '43 with a Gato and after my first patrol (quite a busy one), I got the upgrade meaning twice the firepower to bring down those oh so persistent aircraft when I can't dive quick enough.

uhm... my first career was more of a tremendously-unrealistic-quake-style-shooter-on-the-high-seas sort of thing, so my renown was.... ta-daaaaaa.... over 178,000 by war's end. Maybe that was the problem, they thought I was too good for their refits

Upped up the realism a notch and also quit messing with the files on my second career... but I still swap over for some unrealistic quick-run-and-sink Don't know how much renown I've got, but I know I suck merchant wakes big time. Getting there, though
