Just curious what folks do?
Enjoy the eye candy and play with external views and event camera on or go 100% real and see the war from inside the hull? Myself, on one hand, I am disinclined to introduce the "cheat" information available via these extra views. On the other hand, one of the motivations to play this game over my older classics such as AOD and SHCE is the vastly improved world graphics. Tough decision. --- Also, I understand that simply leaving these additional views available but not using them will affect the behavior of the dynamic campaign. Is that true? Thanks.

Its a game and I like to look at ships sinking. I don't use it to "cheat" honest. I play at 94% so I can take screenies and see what's going on.

Same here (but I'm not at 94% yet!).
In the early days I used to cheat by 'flying' across to ships to check their flags. Tut, tut... |

I pause the game, use external to take screenies. Since I do use torpedo officer, realism is 74%. I also play DID.

You should have seen the reactions I got the first time I said that! I also use external view because I like looking at all the stuff going on in the harbors, and it does look cool when ships explode.

I use my external view to see ships being blown to crap, and on my "fun" account I use it to ID what ship I'm up against so I know whether or not I should be buggered to engage :rotfl:
However, I am only playing on 34% realism, give me a few more weeks and I'll be up to the 60-70% areas.

I found when I had external enabled I couldn't resist cheating a little by checking the flags. So I don't have it enabled anymore.
Of course the fact that my video card is probably WAY below what it should be and it started crashing with all the extra mods and stuff made my decision a bit easier. I never thought it was cheating all that much though. I have pretty good eye sight and felt I should be able to I.D. a flag in light fog from 1000m. : / |

How does the realism percentage affect the behavior the dynamic patrol engine?
Thanks.
