Default Two Choices - Bergen or Hartlepool?

I'm doing SHIII with only 1.4 patch. I'm on patrol 7, May 31 1940. I am ordred to patrol AM32. There are two ways I see to get there. I want some battleships, maybe a carrier. I know the battle over Norway is in full swing and will wind down soon.

So, I'm thinking make my way up close to Bergen, maybe there's a battleship or a carrier to take out. Bergen is still in Allied hands, but Trondheim is not. Or, I go across the North Sea and and make my way up from Hartlepool up past Scapa Flow. I've sunk plenty of C2s by there and now T3 tankers are hauling out of there too. So, I'm seeking some advice on where the juicy targets are; close to Bergen or close to Hartlepool?

This forum rocks; everyone is forthcoming with what they know and the faqs have drastically helped me intercept and find targets. Good Hunting, Kaluens!

You may see some capital ships up near Norway, but seriously you need to consider getting GWX to get a much better experience than stock with patch.

Yeah, I'm seriously considering it. I've read the threads from recent converts and it's pushing me that way.

After Patrol 6, I had sunk over 200,000 tons of shipping and I have it on 85% realism.
Maybe a challenge is in order. The only thing I have on to assist is the Watch Officer giving me range, AOB and speed. Based on that data, I'm able to plot a successful intercept 90 degrees to the target everytime. It sounds like GWX pays attention to the history going on during the campaign.

The good thing for you is that in stock SH3 there is no England East Coast minefield...

I strongly urge you to get GWX.

Then sail out of Bergen and go to war with those Red convoys out of Murmansk. Awesome.

If you want to sink capitol ships the stock game will probably not thrill you.

Look into War Ace Campaign I think you'll find exactly what your looking for.
