Default Save file misery

I have been the vitim of yet another save file tradgedy.

When I load the game, that happens, I end up over 500 meters deep. Why is my VII being sent on a one way ticket to the bottom?

Is my game now incapable of saving properly, must I start my 11th patrol over again!? I have had enough now, I am going to use Commander and set myself as being in home base automatically rather than Travel from Vigo back to Kiel.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Once is unfortunate, twice is just plain aggrivating.

Sorry for that fellow commanders. I needed to get that off my chest, and with being 500m deep there was no way I could bounce the watch officers head off the Uzo this time.

Did you saved the game while submerged? If you did then there is a chance your save game is messed up. I would suggest trying to load it up again or load an earlier save (if you have one) where you saved on the surface. If any of these doesn't work I'm affraid you will have to start the patrol from port again.

I do believe the crash dive of death has been linked to SH3 weather

Must happen on some configs only then, have used several versions of SH3 Weather with several mods and never lost a save, be it on surface, submerged, with or without ships around...

Yup remember below a certain depth physics take over hence the expression crush depth the weight of the water over comes the weight of the air in your tanks etc theres an article some where on the net on it. If i find it i'll post it for ya it even gives you the proper math and physics etc

Well I reloaded patrol 9, and well, I had just enough fuel to get back to Kiel and no more. I decided not to dock at Vigo for resupply after all. I took the Channel and boy was it hazardous! I was lucky to make it, in fact I am surprised I did! I think this calls for a patrol report!

So what can I do to stop this crash dive happening again?

One other thing, when I went to external view, that was all screwy as well from the water's surface up!
