Manual log entries?

I've searched but can't find this!

I there a way to make manual log entries?

It sure would be nice to be able to record things in the captains log.

Yeah....sadly that's a must-have feature that's been missing since SH2. I've never tried it, but I suppose you could edit the log file outside of the game.
