The one on Amazon.com is the CD version, any idea where (or if) we can pre-order the DVD version?

The CD version, I believe, is the one that does not come with any bonuses.

No, it is the DVD and it comes with the standard Bonus Materials.
SH4 does not come on CD.

I thought there would only be a DVD version released in the US.

Since you're in Cali, you'll likely get it in a day or two tops since that is evidentally their warehouse that has the software from my past pre-order experience. Even with the default 3 day shipping.

I do feel obligated giving a bit to Neal's baby going this route, but my donation would likely be larger than Amazon's.

Yeah, everything I order from newegg with their standard shipping arrives on the 2nd business day. Newegg is a top-knotch online store. However, I'd be willing to pay a little bit more for shipping from Amazon to help Subsim out. Shipping from Ubisoft is quite cheap as well IIRC.

If I pre-order somewhere else, maybe I will just drop Subsim some cash through donation. As you already stated, I can garuntee my donation would be larger then a kick-back from Amazon as well.
