Default Loch Ewe surpris

April 1940 - After a few days of semi-lucrative hunting in the Western Approaches (coastals etc), I sink a C2, bringing my fish stock down to 5. I decide to head for home and stop in Loch Ewe along the way. No problems there
After sneaking past the destroyers in the channel, I discover that there are only one or two damaged C-Class lying up. Disheartened, I turn to the open sea, when a radio message informs me of a Task Force. Racing to the map, I see that the TF is heading towards port down the very same channel I'm using! One hour later, two battleships sail into view.
After sinking the Nelson with a single keel shot, all hell breaks loose. Three hideous hours later, with hull at 34%, and not a single torpedo left, I rattle my way home.

*wipes brow*

You sunk the second most renown-worthy ship in the game. I should HOPE it was worth the hell you must have went through!

Next time I want you to bag a King George!

It is extremely cool when you get a good whack at ships when a radio message comes across other than the usual..."Press the attack" or "Keep up the good work". Some useful information that pans out is great!!! Rock on dude! I hope I get the chance one day on that message. I get the convoy messages which are great also if you are in position to kick some major butt

That's okay; in Aces of the Deep you would often be in the North Sea and get a spy report of a convoy now leaving Liverpool.

Or it's 5km away from you and you're out of torpedos and on your way home

I think it's called Merphy's Law (or how I like to call it 'Just my Luck')

...but maybe running in your general direction. You can be in say BF 14 and get a TF contact report W of Gibraltar. But those ships are very likely heading N back into home waters, passing W of Ireland. With a bit of luck, a few contact updates on the navmap and a bit of experience it's not that hard to intercept one of those originally out of reach TF contacts.
