Networking Question
So I'm thinking of making the Blasphemous choice of getting a 360, mostly so I can play Splinter Cell Conviction(especially the Co-op with splitscreen).
Now the issue is, I don't want to dish out $99 for their wireless adapter. Especially since I don't plan on paying for a paid subscription to xbox live. But I would like the ability to patch my games. I live with my girlfriend and her sister, the router for the internet is in the sisters room across the hall. I want to run an ethernet cable from the router to the console just as much as I want to spend 99 dollars on a wireless adapter(which is not very much at all). My laptop which is near the tv and where the console will be, has a built in wireless adapter. Is there anyway I could run a wired connection from the laptop to the 360 and use the laptop as the wireless adapter?

Without the live subscription your not going to update anything, that's your gateway to the internet. I just use the prepaid cards for my daughters Xbox.
I have heard that you can use USB NIC adapters with the Xbox but never tried it. Goole should give you some answers. |

I was under the idea that a Silver account would be able to update.
Okay, I've read that you can set up a Lan from the 360 to the PC and then have the PC connect to the network, it says I need a crossover cable. Now I just need to find out where I can get one local.
