Default How fast is European internet?

This is what I'm pulling down this morning in the states. I might get a bit better at any given time of the day, but this is what I get right now. As most people will know who live in the states, I'm near the top end of the game:

I'm just kind of curious as to how fast European internet is as compared to us?

PS. Mine is that everyday all day. This is not a burst speed like Comcast has. Mine is at this full time.

I see that my old 300 baud modem does not make the scale any more.

300 baud? I might be able to pull a 2400 baud out of the closet. I see a 33.6 on my desk here. I can't personally touch 300 though! Wow! Older than my old Supra 2400 baud modem!

This is the site I was using to test:

Wisconsin: Bringing down the average Internet speed since 1990.

I know that this is about European bandwidths, but I feel the need to vent. I sadly sit upon 28.8 kbps dialup. Nothing greater is available to my current residence. There have been rumors of the arrival of FIOS soon, but I have heard them before. Repeatedly. To top it off, this within what are considered the 'cosmopolitan' Philadelphia suburbs. Bah. I don't even have municipal water. When the power goes out, it's back to the 13th century.

I got 19.5 for download. Plenty fast enough for the "artistic" websites I visit.

cable modem, currently 4096/512 down/up
about 50$ pr month, way too expensive compared to competitors, but difficult to choose another ISP where I live...

Adsl2+ 12Mbits download/ 1 Mbit upload at 39 € per month.
No caps, full bandwidth always available (up and down), no traffic shaping of any kind. Isn't life wonderfull ?

What package is that? The fastest Orange has advertised is 8 Mbit.
