Grandpa's gotten into the Geritol again...
...also in a Hendrix vein, this is a version of Hey Joe, a song popularized by Hendrix, played by a great guitarist, Randy California...
Although probably best known as a member of the band, Spirit, Randy was also notable for being a good friend and band mate of Hendrix; Randy was member of Hendrix's band, Jimmy James and the Blue Flames, and it is a testament to Randy's skill as a guitarist that he as able to hold his own alongside the virtuosity of Hendrix; when Hendrix got the offer to go to England to record as Jimi Hendrix, Hendrix wanted to bring Randy along as a member of the new band that would eventually become The Experience, but Randy, at the time, was still a minor (he was abut 15 years old) and he wouldn't be able to work in the uK; also, Chas Chandler, Jimi's new manager really didn't want to have a second guitarist in the group, choosing instead to focus the attention on Jimi as the principal artist...
