"Hōshō", Japan's first aircraft carrier, is commissioned. She is the world's first aircraft carrier designed and built as such to be commissioned.

Admiral Keyes (United Kingdom) The abandoned schooner drifted ashore in the Christianiafjord at Rauer, Norway.
A. G. Eisnor (United Kingdom) The schooner was abandoned in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Newfoundland. Her crew were rescued by
Frank R. Forsey ( United Kingdom).
Glenshee (Norway) The barque ran aground and sank at Arendal, Norway.
