I don't do 'tiktok', but it is especially hip among youngsters. Since it is "free" the company feels free to (ab)use the gathering of data for profiling and such.
Of course they do not need to include face recognition, the users give all that away voluntarily, they want to become famous or at least better-known.
And there is money in it, unbelievable much money for a start-up..
Regarding TikTok and Trump, maybe his Mafia methods make a bit of sense .. of course he wants the data for the US to have.
