There is DosBOX, which "emulates CPU:286/386 realmode/ protected mode, Directory FileSystem/ XMS/ EMS, Tandy/ Hercules/ CGA/ EGA/ VGA/VESA graphics, a Sound Blaster / Gravis Ultra Sound card for excellent sound compatibility with older games."
But tell you what I opted for to run all my old games; I picked up a used Windows95 Pentium 120 machine for $30 and coupled it with a plain jane 17" flat screen. I can play all the 1995-1999 era games with ease, and boot into DOS for the pre-Windows games. Even made a few boot disks for some game...ah, the memories...
