Default Finally: German Airports series complete

The FSX version of Cologne-Bonn has been released today. This brings the German airport series at least for FS9 to completeness, so that the CD-release of the GA2 package - the last one that was still missing - now is imminent. Different to the earlier parts in the series, it will feature both FS9 and FSX versions. It will include Cologne-Bonn, Hannover, Leipzig-Halle, Dortmund, and my home airport Munster-Osnabruck, all of them ha dbeen available as separate downloads before. That brings the developement of the series for FS9 to an end. the other parts now will be transported to FSX.

The delay of the release is caused by the series having been developed for FS9 originally (more precisely: it has seen complete incarnations for all FS-versions since FS2000), and then being simultaneously developed for FSX as well. GA 1, 3 and 4 have been available for FS9 for longer time now. especially the later developed hubs are considered to rank amongst the current benchmark scenery mods for FS. As to my knowledge no other european country has been covered so massively with airport sceneries, like germany, if you consider the series of "German Airfields" as well, which focusses on small sports airfields, while GA goes after the international and medium sized ones.

Due to the increased workload, Frankfurt has been excluded from being covered by GA series anymore, but is released as a separate product. Munich will face the same fate for FSX.

Plenty of pictures :
In sequence of their release since early 2005 (showing improving scenery design arts, GA2, Frankfurt, and GA1 are the visually most impressive products, while GA3 and GA4 start to show their age)

Welcome to Germany. For Sim-Flyers, it is a paradise.

Unfortunately I cannot report about the German Airfield series, since I do not use it.

Other pefectly done airports in europe are Mega Airports: vienna , MA: Heathrow, both of stunning qulaity, and Paris Charles de Gaulle, which is included in France 2, and is about to be released as a separate, new-developed product soon.
