I'd better explain before I get in any more trouble.
Back in 1970 I was serving aboard USS Brinkley Bass (DD-887), based out of Subic Bay in the Philippines. We were told we would be leaving Subic in March 1970, and paying a visit to Yokosuka and the World's Fair.
Unfortunately Nixon's government chose that time to invade Cambodia. We were reassigned to another month on the gun line and thence straight home.
So I hate Nixon personally because he kept me from seeing Expo '70, and I don't really hate you, but you did get to see a major piece of Naval History and I never will. Not that one, anyway. I did get to see USS Texas (BB-35) while at the SubSim meet at Neal's in 2008.
