Microsoft admitted over the past 12 months that their new internet OS is based on a Linux kernel due to better security, they started to dleiver it to customers over the past months. Its also switching its cloud servers more and more to Linux. Linux is also offered as an option now to Azure customers of Microsoft. So, Microsoft's strategy form playing its cards in the game called "the interet of things" no longer focusses on a separate Microsoft branch of switches and control software, but Linux.

Tells something when a company producing OS, does not trust its own OS for doing stuff or indirectly admits that the OS by somebody else does stuff better.

Both Google and Microsoft use Linux as development platforms, and are said to run main parts of their internal networks at headquarters not under Chrome or Windows, but Linux as well.

I do not know how much share Google is having in the server market, but Linux also dominates here and wins shares from Microsoft even more.

If a car maker refuses to drive his own cars and a pharmaceutist refuses to take his own pills and a chef refuses to eat the meals leaving his kitchen and a parachutist refuses to use the parachute that he folded himself - why would I want any of these?
