i used to have problems with this also.
go to
https://imgbb.com/ and start a free account. you can upload your jpg/png to there and then use their Embed Codes - BBC Full Linked or BBC Medium linked for pasting into your posts here.
i typically paste the codes and then delete header/trailer ads.
use it once or twice and you'll figure it out.
