Well the deep running torpedo God showed up during a patrol near Japan. Found a lone Merchy running at 5kts daylight with calm seas. Fired 3 fish and then the Torpedo God made all three run deep. In the end I fired 12 torpedoes and they all ran deep. Ranges were from 900 to 2000 yards.
I was about to surface and finish it with the deck gun when 2 ASW ships showed up. He must have called for help. Evaded both for about an hour when I finally took severe damage that forced me to the surface.
I went to flank speed and surfaced right next to one of the DDs. Infact I hit it and the DD healed over. I stayed closed and fought it out. The DDs deck gun couldn't hit me but the 20mm sure did. Kept this up for about 5 minutes before CTD. Damn sound.act file. Didn't matter, because I would have been sunk anyway.
