The patrol before that was tedium, 27 days at sea, long periods of fog and rain broken up by rough seas with some sun peaking through the clouds, but not so much as a row boat encountered until the return voyage i had a complete chance encounter with a neutral merchant, boarded it, it was loaded to the gunwales with ammunition and spare parts, so i set scuttling charges in the engine room and sent her down after ordering the crew off the ship... that was my only prize. went home with not a shot fired.

Seems pretty accurate as far as history goes, some patrols better than others

Yep I have had nothing but success with new patrols. I am not doing anything different.

It is realistic. Most subs didn't sink much, but I am not sure that uboat is meant to be the boredom simulator.

I think the next time I get a dud patrol with no ships I will but using the F11 key to submit the game state. Considering how most patrols have ships, I don't know when that will be so if you come across it, you might consider submitting your own. Perhaps link this thread in the description.
