You really do not have to do much other than go to sea and follow the orders relayed to you in the radio signals.

There are other special orders in the message file if you care to look in data/Campaigns/Campaign/messages_en.txt. You can decide before hand if you wish to follow the orders or not. You can open the text files with Notepad or any other text editor application.

I may have confused you a tad in my initial response but hope now that I have made things a little less muddy. You do not have to follow the messages and your persona will not be penalized if you do, but you may find the special patrols to your liking.
