Default Variable thermoclines and camera shake

A further couple of ideas:

With the addition of variable thermoclines (on a sea by sea basis, with some variation "on the day"; and the implementation of outside sea-temperature themometers, it should be possible to add a new wrinkle, whereby asdic performance is degraded by the U-boat descending beneath a thermocline.

Form a research point of view, although this was known by the 1950's, I'm unaware if U-boats routinely measure their local thermoclines - if any - during the course of their patrols, and if so, if they made use of these to aid evasion from detection. Anyone know? Presumably these would have had an impact on trim as well?

The other idea I've been thinking about is the momentary camera-shake in "Das Boot" when depth-charged. What would people think about this as a configurable graphical setting?
