L'été meurtrier / One Deadly Summer / Ein mörderischer Sommer
Very French in its atmosphere, mediterranean mixture of relaxation, erotic tension and melancholy. The story is wicked and has a shocking dramatic twist like only few films have. This is not a teenager's wet dream movie of a hottie with no textiles on - its a
psychothriller, and you can discover a depth in this term that before maybe had escaped your attention. And it ends brutally and nasty and tragic. Its title is no error.
I saw it in a big movie hall that no more exists, the very big Royal Palast Kino 1 in (West-) Berlin (cant tell you how much I miss that one), it had for many years the biggest screen in the world which was build just for the panoramic picture size they shot Lawrence of Arabia in. And I was the only one in the whole huge hall on that day! That was so cool. In mid-week, and first show, so very early afternoon.
Superb movie, very atmospheric. Not for overly prude viewers, though.
