I found LHS far too easy and sinking vast amounts of shipping to be almost without challenge. The opposition was lame and in a 1943 career off Freetown in a Type IXC, I was once attacked by no less than five Liberators, shooting down four, and taking zero damage. I deleted the mod after that fiasco and have never returned to it.
LSH looks pretty and it is easy to rack up huge scores, if that's your thing. Some Players enjoy this but I much prefer the much more difficult NYGM and although stock NYGM is fairly spartan for visual effects, Fifi's mod adds much eye candy and makes some functional changes without watering down perhaps the most effective enemy in the Silent Hunter pantheon.
You cannot go very wrong with Onealex 1.53 either.
