I seem to recall that a Uboat could still transmit radio messages while at periscope depth, using Nauen and later Goliath transmission systems; I wonder if that's not a just an antenna for one of those two systems??

But, at least I now do know we need a new mod to mount the radar detection receiver on a raised schnorkel head!!
