That looks a lot like the Colt 1917 revolver (or S&W) or British variant .455?...without the essential (for aerial combat?) lanyard ring!!! how could you! Actually made back in 1909 and adopted by the (pragmatic) marines to cover a shortage of .45 autos: one of my fellow security officers still carries ONE! with the increasingly rare Half-moon clips for ACP rounds...what A CANNON I carried the Trooper 8" .357 variant with shrouded ejector for 2 decades (alarm-agent and truckcab sleeper) before upgrading to the Python. Nuthin' good goes outta style BBY! Just for fun-note big time lanyard even on the ground! Rigging is essential in WWI...even for pilots to their guns!
