I'm about 1 hour into the current version so far running RA 1.48 (patch 2).
The attention to detail is 10/10.

Family grams and sports scores might seem like fluff but they add a lot.
I really like the idea of starting out in-port and having to know how to drive the boat. You might consider adding a marked channel to the Nav map and maybe some marker buoys for eye candy but that's your call.
