Anvart created this mod to fix the issue, it was a good while ago. I think most of the supermods have this incorporated into their Crew file for Heads or modders of the Crew files. So I do not wonder that you would not have known of this fix.
I will dl yours and check it out. There are many ways to skin a cat.
