How can I do it when I open the file with hex editor, understand pretty much what is what, and then get bemused at how is the number I see with s3d can be that in hex, when I do the math and all?

Like what is what? I learned the files with s3d solely on my test and burn method, but hex is a little bit too complicated for me. Before s3d couldn't open your "secondary explosion caller" part of the fires parts in particles.dat(I can't remember the right name now), I opened with hex, found all, found the time thing, but got
