Mama fully tested the stock game without mods IIRC and everything worked as it should do.
I can see no reason from the on going postings by Mama and other modders where there is any situation where this fix is going to fail.
TWOS and sobers mega mod has the tonnage bar with the Campaign crosses removed so it is the missions and campaigns that will now update correctly providing MaMa's fix is used.
