That might be nice, but you'd loose the ability to 'hurt' the Germans. In Rowan's campaign engine, pilots will get skittish if they take a beating and be reluctant to mix it up on subsequent flights. WIth control of the campaign, you have the ability to hit them extremely hard at one specific point. Then that airfield will be reluctant to battle you in the future for a long while.
