Hi Axeman and welcome to subsim
It could be that your blank screen on loading is just the game loading.
If you use some of the pop mods on here - the time the game takes to load is increased. Give it a few more mins (coffee, smoke, make more coffee
).
If it still does not load - try alt+tab out of the game to see if you are getting any warning boxes
