Sunday, 1 September 1940 - Rockall Bank - Second week at sea completed.

0420 - Evening dusk (Sunrise and Sunset apparently shifting due to high FPS ...) - All external torpedoes loaded under deck and batteries charged.

Cmdr.: "One bottle of beer for each crew member."

0610 - Outgoing F.T.: To B.d.U.:
All external torpedoes loaded. 8Ato. 140cbm. 1791AM. W2/2, clear, light haze, vis.10000, >1000mb. Continue Op. acc. Op.-Order. - RST -

0615 - Boat continuing Op. on previously ordered new patrol line from NW - SE, between Middle Ireland and northern entrance of The Minch. Also, acc. to an Skl.-Order, one weather boat is to permanently be placed between 55°-60°N and 20°-25°W and another is to place weather buoys NW and West of Scotland.

1000 - Wind and sea increasing: NW6/5, clear, light haze, vis.10000, >1000mb.

1200 - Qu.1936AM - Days Run: 152.3sm - 150.1sm (23h 15') - 2.2 (45')

1600 - Incoming F.T. from B.d.U.:
B-Dienst reporting that convoy SC.2 consisting of 53 ships, will arrive at the escort point, on 6 Sept. Acc. a secret Commander-F.T., U 47 (Prien), U 65 (von Stockhausen) and U 124 (Schulz) are ordered to operate on this convoy.

1902 - Incoming F.T.: From B.d.U.:
RST: Join Group SC.2. Reach Qu.AL02 by 6 Sept., 0000h. Status report after arrival.

1920 - New course 280°. During the day, success reports from U 57 (Topp) and U 59 (Matz).

1324 - Incoming F.T.: From B.d.U.:
B-Dienst reports large enemy convoy in Qu.0364AL, course east, speed 7kn.

1345 - "Smoke plume ahead!" - Turning boat around to new course 90°. For the rest of the day, shadowing the convoy in front of its stbd. beam.

1404 - Incoming F.T.: From U 58:
On outbound voyage from Lorient, sighted enemy submarine in Qu.6177BF. - Schonder -

1431 - Outgoing F.T.: To B.d.U.:
