The True Size Of' will let you compare the relative sizes of countries and states. Just type the name of the country/state in the box in the upper left and hit "Enter". You can select multiple countries/states and move them around by clicking and dragging. You can also rotate them using the compass in the lower left.
It's a very interesting site which demonstrates how much the Mercator projection skews our view of the world.
