The position/rotation/scale of each bone is relative to position/rotation/scale of its parent bone. If we had a chain of three bones, where the root bone had an y translation of 1, -3 for the seconf bone, and 0 for the last one, the y position of the latter would be 1 - 3 + 0 = -2
Wether a bone has or not position/rotation/scale data is detremined by its flag

I understand that. But if ALL bones are at 0? Including root bone?
