So I went to the shop today and was shocked:
1. The guys were friendly
2. They even solved the problem in about two minutes.
3. They didn't want any money except for the missing wire which I had to buy.

Yes there was a power wire with a special plug missing. It seems that modern power packs have a special set of plugs which is required for this card. Unfortunately mine didn't sport any of those but that could be solved by connecting my normal 5,25 plugs to some adaptors and everything worked fine.
Now, if a simple adaptor is enough to fix it why are there two different plug systems to begin with??? It's not like the one plug would do some crazy awesome thing which requires a special form or anything. Why didn't they stay with the traditional form and all the damn components get the same power plug??? I thought that principle of one plug for all was what let to the wide use of USB, right? So why different systems for power?
That's what I really hate about PCs. You only want to update one component and you end up with buying plenty of stuff to make it fit into your outdated computer.
