@ Kapitan Phillips - I think M. Sarsfield was just joking about the poor quality of a few SHIII models by comparing them to SHII, which was actually a pretty lousy game in and of itself.
However, ironically, SHII had a more accurate T2 tanker model than SHIII, although the poly count was lower.
However, if one looks at the stock SHIII Small Merchant (NKSs) one will see that it is a higher-poly version of the Small Cargo from SHII.

This was a very good idea to add to the .cfg - many times have I wished for something similar for SHIII when working on GWX or on my own installations.
