U-556 (Type VIIC)

Sunk 27 June, 1941 in the North Atlantic south-west of Iceland by depth charges from the British corvettes HMS Nasturtium, HMS Celandine and HMS Gladiolus. 5 dead and 41 survivors.

U-557 (Type VIIC)

Sank at 2144hrs on 16 Dec, 1941 in the Mediterranean west of Crete after ramming by the Italian torpedo boat Orione. 43 dead (all hands lost).
