It has nothing to do with spreading the wealth. It is about covering up poor choices made by congress over the years in pressuring lenders to give everyone the American Dream. It is the failure of oversight by those applying the pressure. It was failure of the lenders knowing some of these folks will be screwed in the years to come. It was failure of those taking the loan seeing that they could not afford the payment. It is the failure of these people who promptly went and ran up credit cards. Made expensive vehicle purchases and vacations. LIVING LARGE until they realised that the house payment went up on an ARM loan (they always go up and people need to stop living that fantasy they will go down). The credit cards were maxed to the hilt. Out going monies soon far outweighed the incoming monies. And of course it is someone else fault and they need to be bailed out. Typical response we see these day.
