Hi Drazic,

Is this the indestructible sub with massively powerful deck gun that can fire dozens of rounds per minute mod? What's it called... silent fire?

Apologies for no screenshots, but I'm not at the right PC for that.

To install any mod that is JSGME compatible, you need to follow the instructions in JSGME. It took me a few goes and a bit of head scratching to get it to work, so you're not alone. In your Silent Hunter directory, the directory with the /data directory in it, create a folder called MODS. That's the folder you need to put the zip or rar mod file into. Then unzip the mod - use unzip here, as most most are zipped up to extract to their own directory. This is the things that causes most problems, if you extract to a folder, then you get a folder within a folder and that messes up the way JSGME works. Ideally after the mod has been extracted to the mods folder, it should have a folder called 'data' in it - if it has a folder with the mod's name in it, then somethign went wrong. The JSGME executable should be in the same directory that the MODS and DATA folder are in - usually /program files/ubisoft/silent hunter IV. Running JSGME will give you a lost of all the mods available in the mods folder - the names will be the names of the folders that are in the MODS folder.

It can be hard to get it working the first time, as it does all seem a bit disconnected. What's easiest to work with is something quite small that changes the game in an easily discernable way. I first tried JSGME with greenlamp's HUD mod, as it gives an instant indicator of whether the mod was installed or not.

I'm sure someone else will arrive with a better explanation, with pictures :-).
