A few questions
Did any of the past USS San Diego ever have a Silver Service made for her specifically? How about the present USS La Jolla? If not, who would I contact about contributing to a fund that a Silver Service be made for the new USS San Diego?
What happens to silver services of ships that their namesakes are never given a new ship?
Will the New USS California recieve the Silver Service previously used aboard the "Golden Grizzly".
Can the respective States or Cities whom the ships are named after offer to purchase Battle Ensigns representative of the state or city?
Does the US Navy keep a catalog of all Silver Services, and who ultimatly owns it? For instance the new USS San Antonio has been donated a three piece set by a retired Chief.
