Yesterday I hit and sank a J&K class with a "down the throat" shot. It was our 12th day out (Nov. 41) of our 2nd Med patrol. I was getting pretty frustrated with the lack of contacts & the frequent Hurricane attacks; we're within Malta's air covage radius, and was getting ready to pack it in & go home with nothing to show for it.
About 5:30am (game time) we came across the J&K escorting a coastal freighter. I waited until the destroyer was almost on top of us & took a shot. Crash dived & on the way down I got the report that the torpedo had detonated & killed the J&K. Came up again and sank the coastal freighter with little effort. Slim pickings but at least we managed to get something...
