In 43 years 30 odd of them spent camping or humping through the bush at some time or another and I've only seen 2 live sankes in the wild. Several thousand spiders though but they are not a problem as long as you shake your boots out before putting em on. Only once found something in em and that was a scorpion in Lighning Ridge.
Danger is all in the mind. This place is safe as houses and the beer is cold. Wouldn't be dead for quids nor live anywhere else for more than a year.
