Dogmeat is in this? Right on! Always used to be a pain keeping him alive in Fallout, so I hope he is better now.

Yep. Do Moira's Wasteland Survival Guide quest in the Craterside Supply shop in Megaton. You'll find him in one of the first locales that she sends you to. He is fairly useful for distracting bad guys. His health also automatically regenerates so he's not so much of a liability.
