The oddest I can recall is my mother's school friend whose last name was "Nepeivoda", which translates from Russian/Ukranian quite literally as as "Dontdrinkthewater"
I'm also a English PhD student as some of you may know, and one of my colleagues' last name is Shakespeare. Talk about a good choice of specialty on his part :rotfl:
