A very telling moment for me was watching the audience during the speeches. I could not find one non white person in McCain's crowd. Obama's crowd was multicultural. His mother was white so how much black blood is needed to be black? 50%? 25%? 10%? 1%? What are you afraid of? What was it? Hold your nose and vote for the white half?
I don't like supporting the unemployable, nor do I like those who expect entitlements. I laugh at those who espouse freedom and condemn liberals. Just what do you think liberty means? I don't want a nanny state, nor do I want a Nazi state. There is common ground in there somewhere, a balance. I support anyone who works for a richer life, but find CEO's making 400 times their average employee's wage sickening.
I gave GWB the benefit of my doubt, even if I did not like what I saw, and I hope others will give Obama the same.
We have bankrupted our nation over greed and fear. Sure Federal taxes have been fixed, but local taxes are rising to fill the gap. Mine will be nearly 10% on sales and services will now be taxed as well. Progress.
That's enough cryin' in me beer for now.
