Scripted campaigns...
you walk a few hundred meters, Enemy spawn
you complete a Objective - what a surprise I hear a truck at the sudden.
you completed a Objective after cleared the whole big Villa and you rescued prisoners..- Just get your gun loaded mister...shouting outside and footsteps comming towards you..Yep, they are storming the Villa...I wouldn't have expected that in 100 years
Meh...After played some MOH:AA (and MOH:PA) and COD + UO I never bought another WW2 shooter and I tried the first BIA on the PS2, well it had nothing new that the game really offered, PA had command strings too to control your unit not as advanced as BIA but still...Dramatic Heroics, Hollywood shoot'em up with Hot action all the time campaign.
Also this Heroic squadron thingy that always goes on in the games, its overdone and in every title its the same stuff going on...just buggles my mind...I never ever could have thought that my squadron of 5 - 7 men could clear a whole village crawling with Germans. And yes, its possible for me with perhaps 2 guys supporting me wiping clean a castle and blow up a heavily fortified Coastal Gun bunker that is packed with germans. still whats the point of those squad units anyway in many cases I'm the bloody Bullet magnet...the others sometimes get hit, kneel down stand up again and continue firing like nothing ever happend.
All in all....play 1 and you've almost seen the whole WW2 shooter package.
dont get me wrong thought I've enjoyed MOH:AA, COD + UO and BIA (first one).
the first games of the series where good, the expansions and sequels is something I didnt came near of and lucky I didnt after trying some in the Cyber Café they where really bad in most cases.
